Planned Kickstarter-funded phase
Challenge Lab will turn football situations into short, replayable learning games. Choose an offensive concept, see the defense after the call is locked, watch assignments unfold, make one decision, and learn why the result occurred.

Challenge Lab scoring will reward recognition, decision quality, and concept mastery rather than treating yards gained as the only measure of success. Randomness will remain part of simulation outcomes, but learning progress should reflect the football decision the user made.
Scores and achievements will be game feedback, not a scientific measurement of football intelligence, coaching ability, or player potential.
Explain the defense, identify the key conflict, and show why the selected option was reasonable or risky.
Add leverage, spacing, route timing, protection, run fits, coverage rotation, and alternative answers.
The first Challenge Lab release is designed primarily as a public learning game. Its structured scenarios will also create the foundation for future coach-authored assignments, private team libraries, and player review. Those Coach Studio capabilities are later phases and are not included in the first Kickstarter promise.
OpenPlay Football is inviting coaches, football educators, and enthusiasts to express interest in reviewing challenge scenarios, terminology, reads, explanations, and game simulation. Please Contact us if you would like to take part on shaping the Challenge Lab.
